The My JH landing page is the entrance to the Johns Hopkins myJH portal, which connects eligible affiliates with institutional applications and community information. Select Log In on the myJH homepage; use Forgot Password when account recovery is the actual problem.

The bigger issue is choosing the right Johns Hopkins service. Employees may need Employee Self Service, students may need SIS, patients may need MyChart, and some remote applications require MyCloud rather than ordinary browser access.
What is the My JH landing page?
MyJH is Johns Hopkins’ portal for web applications and institutional information. Its public landing page describes it as an access point to hundreds of Johns Hopkins applications and key information about the Hopkins community.
The portal is not the application that performs every task.
MyJH helps users find or open resources. Payroll, course registration, patient records and remote Windows applications are handled by separate systems, even when the user reaches them through the broader Johns Hopkins technology environment.
That difference explains many failed searches. Someone looking for a medical test result can successfully reach myJH and still be on the wrong service. An employee may search the public landing page for a direct-deposit field even though that function belongs inside Employee Self Service.
Choose by task first.
How do I log in to myJH?
Open the myJH homepage and select Log In. Johns Hopkins myProfile instructions say the next stage is Enterprise Authentication, where users enter their JHED ID followed by @jh.edu, select the next control and continue with the account password.
Use the current landing page first. Skip authentication pages saved from an older session.
An old bookmark may contain a request generated for a previous application or browser session. Beginning from myJH creates a cleaner path and helps separate an expired sign-in request from a real identity problem.
The account must also be eligible for the requested resource. A successful institutional login proves that the person authenticated; it does not prove that every Johns Hopkins application has been assigned to that identity.
That distinction matters after departmental transfers, new employment, enrollment changes or returning affiliations.
Which portal matches the task?
Use this decision path.
Institutional applications and directory tools: Start with myJH. The landing page is the broad Johns Hopkins access point.
Student registration and academic records: Use SIS. Its public page separates student sign-in, alumni sign-in and class search.
Employee pay and personal information: Use Employee Self Service. Johns Hopkins lists pay statements, direct-deposit updates, tax-withholding changes, personal information, emergency contacts and certain leave or timesheet functions there.
Patient records and provider communication: Use MyChart. Johns Hopkins Medicine describes it as the place for medical questions and test results.
Remote applications: MyCloud may be required. Johns Hopkins describes it as a Citrix-based method of streaming applications from Hopkins-hosted Windows servers to a personal device.
Do this first. Skip password recovery until you know which service should contain the information.
What is a JHED account?
JHED refers to the Johns Hopkins enterprise identity and directory environment used across institutional services. MyJH relies on that identity to personalize access and authenticate users.
One visible sign of this relationship appears on the Enterprise Authentication screen: Johns Hopkins instructs users to enter the JHED ID with the @jh.edu suffix.
A JHED user does not necessarily need to create a separate account for every Hopkins service. The Johns Hopkins medical IT Service Desk, for example, tells JHED users not to create another service-desk account and to select Continue with Microsoft for JHU single sign-on.
That button can look unfamiliar.
It does not automatically mean the user has reached the wrong organization. Some Johns Hopkins applications use Microsoft as the visible single-sign-on route while still recognizing the institutional identity.
Read the page label before creating anything. Skip duplicate account creation when a JHED or enterprise-authentication option is provided.
Why is the portal showing Action Required?
MyJH periodically enters a restricted state called Action Required. Johns Hopkins says this occurs approximately every six months and requires the user to review information in myProfile, including any new settings or options that may be presented.
Normal access returns after the user confirms that myProfile is current or makes changes and saves them.
This is expected portal behavior.
It is not the same as a bad password, blocked sign-in or general outage. If authentication completed and the screen says Action Required, open myProfile rather than returning repeatedly to the login page.
Johns Hopkins’ instructions place myProfile under the user avatar near the upper-right corner after login.
Complete the profile review first. Skip clearing the browser unless a separate technical error is displayed.
Why is an application missing after login?
MyJH does not necessarily show every application in the first row.
Johns Hopkins guidance for the redesigned portal says first-time users may see an empty My Favorites area, followed by recommended tools and grouped applications. Some expected tools remain hidden until the user selects view all apps in this group.
Users can select the heart on an application to add it to Favorites. The tool then appears near the top of the portal for easier access.
Search and grouping should be checked before reporting a missing application.
The application may also require a particular Johns Hopkins role. An employee and student can authenticate through the same institutional system while seeing different resources because their affiliations and permissions differ.
A third possibility is that the tool uses its own landing page. SIS, Secure eCommerce and the medical IT Service Desk all present distinct sign-in choices, even though Johns Hopkins enterprise authentication may be one of them.
Search first. Skip creating a replacement JHED account because one tile is absent.
Where do employees find payroll and direct deposit?
Employee Self Service is the designated Johns Hopkins resource for eligible employee payroll and personal-information functions.
The official ESS page lists these actions:
- View pay statements
- Update direct-deposit information
- Change tax withholding
- Update permanent addresses
- Maintain emergency contacts
- Review certain timesheet or leave information
Johns Hopkins Medicine also describes ESS as a secure online resource for payroll data and updates to key personal information.
MyJH may help an employee locate the resource, but the public landing page itself does not contain payroll fields.
Open the authorized ESS application. Skip search results that imitate an employee login or ask for employment information outside a Johns Hopkins-controlled service.
Access can differ by employee category and organization, so missing functions should be treated as an eligibility or account-assignment question rather than guessed from another employee’s screen.
When is MyCloud required?
MyCloud is used for remote access to certain Johns Hopkins applications through Citrix technology. Johns Hopkins explains that the application runs on a Windows server in a Hopkins data center and is streamed to the user’s personal device.
This can allow a Mac, Linux computer or unmanaged device to work with a remotely hosted Windows application.
MyCloud is not another name for myJH.
MyJH can act as the starting portal, while MyCloud provides the remote application session. If a resource does not run directly in the browser, check whether its Johns Hopkins instructions specify MyCloud or another remote-access method.
Do not install random remote desktop software from a third-party tutorial. Use the institution’s documented route and supported client.
Requirements may vary by division and application.
What should I do if the login page keeps looping?
Start with a fresh path.
Close older Johns Hopkins authentication tabs, reopen the myJH landing page and select Log In again. Confirm that the browser is reaching the Johns Hopkins domain and that the account entered matches the assigned JHED identity.
Then identify where the loop occurs:
- Before Enterprise Authentication appears
- After the JHED identity is entered
- During multifactor authentication
- After authentication returns to myJH
- Only when opening one application
Those are different failures.
A loop affecting only one application may be an application-side permission or session issue. A loop before any Johns Hopkins authentication page appears is more likely to involve the saved link, browser session or starting page.
Record the exact page name. “SIS returns to Enterprise Authentication after successful myJH login” is useful.
“My JH keeps refreshing” is not.
How do I avoid fake or irrelevant login pages?
Search results for short phrases such as “my jh” can include unrelated businesses and products. The live results reviewed for this article included non-Hopkins sites with similar words, which makes domain checking important.
For Johns Hopkins myJH, use the institutional jh.edu domain and follow the login path provided there.
Do not enter institutional credentials into a site merely because “JH” appears in its title.
The same caution applies to help-desk pages. Johns Hopkins medical IT states that JHED users should use JHU SSO through the provided Microsoft option rather than creating a separate local account.
Verify the organization and the purpose of the page. Skip credential entry when either one is unclear.
How do I get Johns Hopkins support?
The myJH Support site publishes Help Desk routes at (410) 516-HELP and (410) 955-HELP (4357) and provides a problem-reporting option.
Prepare a narrow description:
- The service needed
- The exact page reached
- Whether myJH login completes
- Whether Action Required appears
- Whether other Hopkins applications work
- The exact error wording
- The approximate time of the problem
Be concrete.
“Enterprise Authentication succeeds, but SIS returns to its sign-in page” gives the support team a useful boundary.
“My account does not work” does not.
Do not include account credentials in an ordinary support description.
